Any association is only as strong as its membership, and for this reason it is important for all members to be kept up-to-date with the opportunities for discussion, input, suggestions, and ideas.
The MAVO Executive Board has put together a yearly meeting schedule for conducting the business of our non-profit association. Participation on the Executive Board is through elections of various positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Clinicians, Liaisons to the MPA Assignors, and two At-Large positions. Terms of office for these positions are staggered over a three year period so that we don't lose an entire board every election.
Elections for the vacant positions are held in December each year, at the Annual MAVO Business Meeting. Nominations in advance, from the floor, or self-nominations are The MAVO Secretary will email all members with information prior to the Annual Business Meeting. All MAVO members in good standing are eligible for any open Executive Board seat. Nominations are open up to the time of the election. Members may be elected to more than one position, but would only hold one vote for business matters.
Seats that are contested (more than one individual seeking that position) will be voted on by membership. These elections can be conducted via electronic survey of all members with the announcement made via email at a point after the election.
